Why are Alden Tech PC Drops priced so aggressively?

PC Drops work a little differently from our regular custom-built systems.

We source hardware from a variety of channels and take advantage of closeouts, overstock, trade-ins, open-box inventory, bulk purchases, and other opportunities that allow us to acquire components below typical retail pricing. When the right combination of parts comes together, we turn it into a PC Drop and pass a good portion of that savings along to you.

Drops are built to move. Instead of pricing them like traditional retail prebuilts, our goal is to offer an exceptional amount of performance and hardware for the money.

Some Drops may contain a combination of new, open-box, refurbished, or previously owned components. When used components are included, they're inspected and tested by Alden Tech before going into a system. The exact condition of each build and its components will always be disclosed in the listing.

Every completed Drop is assembled, tested, benchmarked, and validated by Alden Tech before it's offered for sale.

The result is simple: you get a professionally built gaming PC for significantly less than it would typically cost to build the same machine using everything at current retail prices.

How quickly do PC Drops sell?

It depends on the build, but some can go very quickly.

Every Drop is a limited build based on the hardware we have available at that particular time. Once somebody purchases it, it's gone.

There are no rain checks and no guarantee we'll build another identical system.

If you see a Drop that has the specs, look, and price you've been waiting for, waiting too long can mean missing it.

When are new PC Drops released?

There's no fixed monthly schedule.

New Drops go live whenever we've sourced the right hardware and completed the build, testing, benchmarking, and final quality checks.

Upcoming Drops may be previewed on the Alden Tech website and social channels before they're available for purchase, so following Alden Tech is the best way to know what's coming next.

Will a sold-out PC Drop be restocked?

Usually, no.

PC Drops are built around specific hardware opportunities, which means many of them are effectively one-of-one systems. Once a particular Drop sells, we may not be able to source the same components again at a price that makes the build possible.

We may build something similar in the future, but the exact configuration, appearance, and price aren't guaranteed to return. That's part of what makes a Drop a Drop.

What's the catch?

There isn't one.

We're able to price Drops differently because we don't source every component at normal retail pricing, and we don't build hundreds of identical machines that have to support traditional retail overhead.

What we don't cut corners on is the finished PC.

Every Alden Tech Drop is professionally assembled, tested for stability, benchmarked, inspected, and ready to game before it leaves our hands.
